Is your business demanding more of you than you’d like?
Maybe you're carrying too much responsibility, thinking about work when you don't want to be, or simply finding that the business takes more of your time, energy and headspace than feels right.
Kill The Chameleon is for small business owners who want greater clarity about the kind of business that really suits them, more confidence in the choices they make, and plenty of energy, time and headspace left for everything else that matters too.
Across 180 pages, you'll find real business-owner stories, useful questions and a simple framework to help you consider what to keep, what to change and what to let go — whether that's the clients you work with, how you structure your day, the pace you work at, or some of the expectations you put on yourself or others.
Making choices like these can change how your business feels to run, how well it works, and how much energy you have left to enjoy the rest of your life.

“Kill The Chameleon helped me better understand how I operate and what kind of business I want to keep building - one that fills my cup rather than drains it.”
— Ndi Ruppert, Ruppert Legal
Why I wrote it?
For more than 20 years, I've worked alongside business owners as they've navigated the challenges that come with running a business.
I've seen businesses grow and become successful, while the person behind them becomes increasingly tired, frustrated or disconnected from the life they were hoping the business would help them create.
I've experienced some of that myself.
I originally sat down to write a few notes about what I'd learned over the years. I didn't want that experience to simply fade into oblivion as I became an old man.
A week later, I had a manuscript.
What emerged wasn't really a book about productivity, strategy or how to grow a business. It was about something I'd come to believe matters just as much:
The business needs to work for the person running it too.
Don’t wait until something breaks
Perhaps business is doing okay. Maybe even pretty good. And you're managing. But you might be finding it harder to switch off, feeling a little more tired or frustrated than you used to, or noticing that work is taking up more of your energy than you'd like.
It's easy to assume things will settle down eventually.
Sometimes they do. But sometimes we simply get better at carrying the pressure.
Over time, that pressure can start showing up in other parts of our lives. We can become less patient at home, less enjoyable to work with, or find ourselves feeling guilty because we know the people around us aren't getting the best of us.
Our energy can disappear. Stress can start affecting our health. We can lose confidence in decisions that once came easily, or begin questioning whether we even want the business we've worked so hard to build.
Occasionally, people reach the point where walking away feels like the only way to deal with it.
You don't have to wait until you reach that point to respect yourself and build a business and life that suits you better.
If your business is already asking more of you than you'd like, that's enough of a reason to stop for a moment and consider what really needs your attention.
What you’ll find inside.
This isn’t a book full of productivity hacks or business formulas.

What happens when you Kill The Chameleon
Reading a book doesn't lead to change unless it feels like it's talking to you.
I've been pleased to hear from readers that Kill The Chameleon has done that, but even more interested to hear what they've actually done as a result.
Dr Adam Arnold changed his working schedule after reading the book. It might seem like a small change, but it changed the tempo he was working at. He had more energy left for himself after work and for the people around him.
Shirley Driver watched her boss's stress levels drop as he read the book, helping create a much more harmonious environment to work in.
Jarrod, Sam, Josh and Shirley, whose experiences you'll find below, talk about greater clarity, renewed energy, feeling calmer and having more confidence to make choices that suit them.
The book grew out of real conversations, and perhaps that's why reading Kill The Chameleon can feel like having one.
Clearer direction
"I found a restored calmness and the patience required to manage the current chapter of my journey. It has brought back for me a real, deep sense of what success looks like for me. This book will be a companion to many."

“I found the ideas to be profoundly transformative. It helped me realise the importance of living in alignment with my inner nature so that I can choose a path that truly invigorates and energises me”
- Sam Litchfield, Sam Litchfield Music
Renewed energy
“Kill the Chameleon wasn't just an enjoyable read. It genuinely challenged the way I'd been thinking about my work. The book gave me renewed clarity, fresh energy and the confidence to focus on doing more of the work I enjoy most.”
- Josh Bridson, Ergo Experts
"Kill The Chameleon will challenge and inspire you to be more of you - to run your business how you want to run it and more importantly to allow yourself to take time for yourself. This was exactly the message I needed to hear."
- Shirley Dalton, Leadership and Business Coach
